Privacy & Cookie Choices

Last updated: June 27, 2026

Nom uses a few cookies to run analytics and, where ads are shown, advertising. This page explains what each category does and lets you decide whether we load those non-essential scripts. Your choice is saved on this device and takes effect immediately and on your next visit.

What each category does

  • Strictly necessary Always on

The basics needed to serve the site and remember this privacy choice. They don’t track you across sites and can’t be switched off. Your choice itself is stored in a first-party cookie (nom_consent) and in your browser’s local storage.

  • Analytics Optional

Google Analytics 4, Statcounter, Ahrefs Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity, used to count visits and see which guides are useful. These run by default (opt-out model); if you reject, Google Consent Mode sets analytics storage to denied and none of these scripts load on this device.

  • Advertising Optional

Google AdSense, on pages where ads run, to deliver and measure ads. While this is off, the ad script is not loaded and advertising storage stays denied, so no personalized-advertising cookies are set.

How your choice is applied

Nom is a static site with no login and no server-side profile of you, so these controls work entirely in your browser — and we’re honest about what that can and can’t do:

  • Accept all grants analytics and advertising storage (Google Consent Mode is updated to granted) and lets the analytics and ad scripts load.
  • Reject non-essential / Do Not Sell or Share sets Consent Mode to denied, stops the advertising and analytics scripts from loading on this and future page views, and records a Do-Not-Sell / Do-Not-Share signal for this device.
  • We also read your browser’s Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If GPC is enabled and you haven’t explicitly chosen “Accept,” we treat it as a rejection.

Because there’s no account behind the site, there’s no server-side history for us to delete — we simply don’t keep one. To reach data already held by our providers, use their own tools: Google Ad Settings, optout.aboutads.info (DAA), and optout.networkadvertising.org (NAI) — or clear cookies in your browser settings.
